Unlike a short-term acute care hospital, which focuses on stabilizing a patient’s medical condition, LTACH specializes in providing intensive medical and therapy services to patients with medically complex conditions.
We admit patients from acute care hospitals where severe injury, illness, or complex medical conditions require medical rehabilitation in a hospital setting.
Approximately 41% of patients who are discharged from the hospital will go to a post-acute setting for further treatment and support. The average length of stay is 25 days or more for many LTACH patients.
