Medical Weight Management

Medical Weight Management is a non-surgical, medically supervised program that helps patients lose weight safely and maintain their weight loss.

We offer three different weight loss programs ranging from modified lifestyle options using foods you find at the grocery store, to high protein food supplements purchased through our pharmacy. We will help determine which program is best for you based on your current health and weight loss goals at an initial consultation. We can also help with prescribing Anti-Obesity Medications (AOMs).

Each program requires weekly class attendance and offers support from our team of experts.

Types of Medical Weight Management

Slim & Trim

This program includes a 1,200 calorie a day diet designed just for you - created by you and our dietitian. You will be able to eat three meals a day, plus snacks, using grocery store foods. Sample meal plans will be provided to you for your grocery shopping convenience.

Very Low-Calorie Diet (VLCD)

VLCD focuses on using high-protein program foods that can be purchased at our retail pharmacy. This is a low-calorie diet (800-900 calories a day) that includes physician supervision, along with support from our dietitian, behaviorist and exercise physiologist.

Whole New You

This program focuses on an approved food list of whole foods and gradually transitions by phases to help you continue clean eating and regular physical activity in your long-term weight maintenance plan. Meal planning and food preparation are a focus of this program, but you will not count calories.

Anti-Obesity Medications

AOMs can be a helpful tool along with lifestyle and behavior changes to help with weight management. Your provider will review options with you and determine your best strategy. AOMs require a BMI greater than 30. If you have weight-related medical problems like sleep apnea, hypertension or diabetes, medications can be prescribed with a BMI greater than 27.
