RiskPlus™

A mother and daughter share a tender moment together on the couch

The average woman’s risk of breast cancer over her lifetime is 12.5%. However, there are several factors that may elevate a woman’s risk. Some of these include family history, menstrual history and prior abnormal cells on breast biopsies. Other important modifiable lifestyle factors include obesity, diet, lack of exercise, alcohol intake and smoking.

Risk of Breast Cancer

Most women do not know their personal risk of breast cancer. The American Cancer Society defines high risk as a lifetime risk of 20% or more, moderate risk as a lifetime risk of 15–20%, and normal risk as a lifetime risk of less than 15%.

Do You Know Your Risk?

For women who are considered high risk, RiskPlus™ is a program that includes a comprehensive review of each woman’s personal risk factors to identify her individual risk. A personalized program of high-risk care, including management of advanced breast imaging and other risk reduction interventions per NCCN guidelines is developed, based on that woman’s risk factors.
