Diabetes Prevention
With prediabetes, you have higher than expected blood sugar levels, but not high enough for a Type 2 diabetes diagnosis. Trinity Health Michigan can help you avoid diabetes and its health risks through our prevention program.
Who Is Diabetes Prevention For?
This program is for people who have prediabetes. Although prediabetes might not make you feel sick, you face a higher risk of future health issues.
If you end up with a Type 2 diabetes diagnosis, you also have a higher likelihood of experiencing:
- Chronic kidney disease
- Hearing issues
- Heart disease, including high blood pressure, which can lead to stroke
- Nerve damage that can cause foot problems and increase your risk of amputation
- Vision loss
Type 2 diabetes prevention includes lifestyle changes that bring blood sugar levels back to a healthy range. These changes don’t come easily, which is why Trinity Health Michigan gives you the information and support you need to succeed.
