Summer Internships
Our summer interns learn sustainable agriculture practices, how to interact with community members of all backgrounds, communication skills, and educational material development. We hire one or two interns per year at each location (Ann Arbor, Oakland). Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, starting in winter of 2023.
Position Description:
Agriculture and Community Health Internship (*PAID*)
The Agriculture and Community Health Interns grow and learn in a variety of meaningful ways. These paid internships ($15 per hour) are scheduled at 40 hours per week for 16-20 weeks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in all aspects of sustainable vegetable production, the Farm Share, and additional programming needs
- Work with Farm volunteers of all ages
- Develop and implement supplemental educational offerings (e.g., cooking classes, recipe samples)
- Create educational materials to accompany vegetables distributed to clinics and Farm Share members (e.g., vegetable storage tips, information about Farm programming, healthy recipes)
- Primarily work out-doors with frequent bending, lifting and walking.
We are offering two specialties for 2024:

Required Education, Experience and Certification/Licensure:
- Education: High school diploma
- Experience: Experience farming, creating healthy recipes and coming up with educational offerings for a diverse audience is preferred.
Time Commitment:
- Flexible start and end dates (May through September preferred)
- 8 hours/day, Monday – Friday
