Behavioral Health Crisis Center
This service is currently only available in West Michigan.
Our 24/7 Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC), in partnership with Network 180, is here to support adults (18+) facing challenges with mental or behavioral health, emotional struggles, or issues with alcohol or drug use. We offer a safe, respectful space for anyone needing immediate help. Our team works with you to understand your needs, help stabilize the situation, and connect you with services for ongoing support. We provide trauma-informed care, which means we understand the impact of past trauma and support you in a caring, respectful way.
What to Expect When You Arrive
Once you walk in, you'll be seen within 15 minutes for a behavioral health assessment. Depending on your needs, you may:
- Receive Brief Intervention: You'll meet with a caring professional who listens to your concerns, checks your safety, provides crisis help, and assists in making a safety plan. They'll also guide you to additional support and services.
- Enter the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU): If you need more intensive support or arrived involuntarily, you may stay in the CSU, where you'll receive safe, secure care for up to 72 hours. You'll also have access to medical assessments, lab tests, and medications as needed.
How Do I Know it's a Crisis?
A crisis can mean different things for different people, but it usually includes times when intense feelings, behaviors, or stress become too difficult to manage alone. Here are some examples:
- You feel unable to manage your mental or behavioral health symptoms or substance use and need help.
- Your emotions or actions are affecting your health, relationships, or daily life.
- You or someone else is at immediate risk of harm.
- You need support now to stay safely at home and avoid hospitalization.
Cost and Insurance
All adults are welcome at our Crisis Center, no matter what type of insurance you have – or if you don’t have insurance at all.
