Simulation Lab
Training Center for Students and Educators
The Trinity Health Simulation Laboratory, located in Muskegon and established in 2010, is a training center that provides emergency care workers, educators and students an environment that simulates life-or death scenarios using computerized manikins and state-of-the-art technology. The facility’s simulated environments include a residential nursery, patient exam room, ICU, emergency room/trauma, medical/surgical room, residential living room, and ambulance.
The lab also features four high-fidelity training manikins that function almost like humans; blinking, talking, breathing, and registering a blood pressure and heartbeat are some of their capabilities. The Trinity Health Regional Simulation Lab allows Muskegon-area health professionals to be as prepared as possible for on-the-job situations.
The newly established facility is the result of collaboration between the Muskegon County Medical Control Authority, Region 6 Bio-Defense Network Coalition and the Office of Public Health Preparedness of Michigan Department of Community Health, and Mercy Health.
