Geriatric Medicine Fellowship
The Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at Trinity Health Muskegon, Graduate Medical Education emphasizes innovation and collaboration to provide person-centered and multidisciplinary team-based geriatric care across the continuum of care.
Fellows will learn to deliver care across multiple settings – outpatient clinics (as consultants and primary care providers), hospitals, retirement communities, assisted living facilities, long term care facilities and private residences, and limited call by phone.
Rotations in the fellowship include longitudinal and/or rotational experiences in all the previously mentioned locations, as well as experiences in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Neurology, Geriatric Psychiatry, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Wound Care and VA (Ann Arbor, Mich.).
The curriculum includes continuous quality improvement work, robust didactics, journal clubs and institutional access to Geriatrics Care Online, The American Geriatric Society's (AGS) online educational portal and attending the AGS Annual Meeting and/or the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine's (formerly AMDA) annual conference.

The Geriatric Primary Care Clinic and Long Term/Sub Acute Care Facility are also sites for longitudinal experiences.
An elective rotation could be a repetition of a core rotation or may be one of several specialties including ENT, Podiatry, Cardiology, Dermatology, Hematology/Oncology, Pulmonology, Nephrology, Rheumatology and Osteopathic Neuromuscular Medicine.
