In accordance with the ACGME Institutional Requirements, applicants to Trinity Health Oakland residency training programs are informed in writing of the terms and conditions of employment and benefits. Other benefits include
Educational stipend, health care spending account, dependent care spending account, family life insurance, group legal plan, adoption benefit, retirement plan, and free parking.
Residents also receive laundry service for lab coats (coats provided free), meal allowance while on duty in the hospital, and comfortable sleep quarters while on call in the hospital.
Residents receive 4 weeks (28 days) of vacation each academic calendar year.
2023 - 2024 Resident Salaries and Educational Allowance:
- PGY-1 salary is currently $60,091.00 annually / PGY-1 Educational Allowance is $1,200
- PGY-2 salary is currently $61,630.00 annually / PGY-2 Educational Allowance is $2,500
- PGY-3 salary is currently $63,170.00 annually / PGY-3 Educational Allowance is $2,500
- PGY-4 salary is currently $64,709.00 annually / PGY-4 Educational Allowance is $2,500
- PGY-5 salary is currently $67,451.00 annually / PGY-5 Educational Allowance is $2,500
- PGY-6 salary is currently $68,372.00 annually / PGY-6 Educational Allowance is $2,500
- PGY-7 salary is currently $73,512.00 annually / PGY-7 Educational Allowance is $2,500
Resident Responsibilities
Incoming residents must pass an employment check and health screening (including a drug screen) prior to reporting to work. All residents must hold and maintain current state licensure, BLS and ACLS certification and meet eligibility criteria established by the ACGME.
Please note: Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident of the U.S., have a work authorization card or a J1 visa. Some residency programs do not accept J1 visas.
