Diagnostic Radiology
Welcome from the Program Director
George Pappas, MD
Program Director
Welcome to the Trinity Health Oakland/Wayne State University Diagnostic Radiology Program website. Our long-standing residency is a five-year training program (Transitional Year and 4 years Diagnostic Radiology at THO-WSU). Our Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program is designed to provide residents with a supportive educational environment that promotes progressive attainment of the skills needed to practice as outstanding consultant radiologists. The program provides residents with broad-based experience in all forms of radiologic examination. We offer an environment that encourages the interchange of knowledge and experiences among residents and faculty in the program and other major clinical specialties throughout the hospital. A resident who applies himself or herself and uses the available training resources advantageously will be well prepared for the American Board of Radiology examination and, more importantly, for the challenges and rewards of daily practice.
The THO-WSU Radiology Residency Program is proud to offer the Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) pathway that provides residents the option to specialize in interventional radiology. THO-WSU is accredited for a total of 4 ESIR positions (1 per residency class).
