Faculty
Holly Murphy, MD, MPH&TM - Program DirectorI am an Infectious Diseases Clinician, an educator and a public health advocate. My highest priority is to provide compassionate, clinical care to my patients. I strive to build my clinical wisdom through lifelong learning in the fields of Infectious Diseases, Tropical and Travel Medicine and Public Health. My greatest wisdom in the field has come from the lessons taught by my patients. I work to extend and improve the quality of Infectious Diseases clinical care through research and teaching, locally and globally. As Program Director for the Infectious Diseases Fellowship I advocate for unique, individualized comprehensive learning experiences for fellows, residents and students. I value international exchange for doctors in-training to gain a global perspective in the field of ID and clinical knowledge. I enjoy teaching fellows in the US and internationally and developing cross-cultural learning and research exchange. My research interests are in clinical disease management of HIV and Hepatitis C, Covid-19; bacterial infections and antimicrobial drug resistance especially in resource-poor settings. Neelay Kothari, MD, MPH - Associate Program DirectorInfectious Diseases Medical Director – Trinity Health IHA Medical GroupBefore joining Trinity Health IHA Medical Group, Dr. Kothari spent more than five years with a consultative practice in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Kothari enjoys working closely with patients, families and other healthcare professionals to promote good health and recovery from illness. Anurag Malani, MDCo-Director of Fellowship Research, Medical Director - Healthcare Epidemiology, Special Pathogens, Antimicrobial Stewardship ProgramsDr. Malani is a fellow of both the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America, a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) through the American Association of Physician Leadership, and serves as an Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Michigan and as an Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. He is a current member of the IDSA Antimicrobial Resistance Committee, and recently served on the SHEA Board of Trustees from 2020-2022. He is currently the President Elect of the Michigan Infectious Diseases Society. Dr. Malani has been an integral member of the Trinity Health Ann Arbor’s Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program since its inception and has served as a research advisor/mentor for numerous fellows. Curtis Collins, PharmD, MS, BCPS, BCIDP, FASHPCo-Director of Fellowship ResearchDr. Collins is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Infectious Diseases and Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs at Trinity Health Ann Arbor. He also serves as an instructor for the Trinity Health Ann Arbor Pharmacy Residency Program and is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. Additionally, Dr. Collins is a Fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and active in state and national pharmacy and healthcare organizations. Dr. Collins' clinical and research interests include antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacoeconomics. Syed Ahmad, MDMedical Director – Infection Prevention ProgramDr. Ahmad trained at Trinity Health Ann Arbor when it was known as “St. Joe’s.” After spending some time away, he now serves as the Medical Director of the Infection Prevention Program at Trinity Health Ann Arbor. Dr. Ahmad’s clinical interests include HIV, Hepatitis B and C, Clostridioides difficile (C-diff) infections and general infectious diseases. Sarah Cookinham, MDDr. Cookinham’s clinical interests include blood stream infections, endocarditis, fever of unknown etiology, osteomyelitis, and hepatitis. Anna Dobosz, MDDr. Dobosz also trained at Trinity Health Ann Arbor when it was known as “St. Joe’s.” Dr. Dobosz appreciates infectious diseases for its relevance in day-to-day life and ability to rapidly change. Drew Engers, MDDr. Engers spent several years as an internal medicine hospitalist at “St. Joe’s” before pursuing fellowship training and ultimately staying on as faculty with IHA. His clinical interests include gram negative bacteremia enterococcal infections and endocarditis, HIV, HCV, and anti-microbial stewardship. Nathaniel Soper, MDDr. Soper worked for a year as a hospitalist at the University of Michigan prior to pursuing fellowship and started as faculty at IHA after completing training. His clinical interests include antimicrobial & diagnostic stewardship, antibiotic-resistant infections, and the history of infectious diseases. His non-medical interests include various high-risk ID activities such as traveling, eating sushi, swimming in lakes, gardening, and raising backyard chickens. Swetha Srialluri, MDDr. Srialluri is a graduate of Trinity Health Ann Arbor’s Infectious Diseases fellowship. After completing training, she joined as an attending with IHA.
