Trinity Health Livonia Receives Prestigious 2024 Governor’s Award of Excellence

LIVONIA, Mich. (Oct. 14, 2024) – Trinity Health Livonia announced that it has received the 2024 Governor's Award of Excellence. This prestigious recognition, given in collaboration with Governor Gretchen Whitmer, iMPROve Health, and the Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA) Keystone Center, highlights exceptional healthcare organizations in Michigan.
The Governor’s Award of Excellence began in 2003 in partnership with iMPROve Health and Gov. John Engler. The award recognizes providers that focus on improving Michigan’s most pressing health issues.
"In an industry like health care where quality is so important, the Governor’s Award of Excellence stands as a testament to our hospital’s unwavering commitment to delivering the highest standard of care,” said Matthew Griffin, MD, chief medical officer and president of Trinity Health Livonia. “I am so proud of the work our teams in our hospital are doing to transform lives and to create a healthier future for local residents."
Trinity Health Livonia has received a number of other awards and recognitions recently, including the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Get With The Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award. This award is given to hospitals for the commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines. Additionally, the AHA awarded Trinity Health Livonia with the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award, and the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award.
The award criteria were aligned with the healthcare objectives of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Enrolled organizations were eligible to receive the Governor’s Award in up to three different categories, as well as the Medals of Achievement, by demonstrating the incorporation of Person and Family and/or Health Equity strategies to drive improvement.
