Public open house to be held Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
PONTIAC, Mich. (June 13, 2019) – St. Joseph Mercy Oakland hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony this afternoon at its new Waterford Medical Complex, located at 4400 Highland Rd. in Waterford. The $2.4 million, 14,400 square-foot facility provides one stop convenience for local residents by bringing together Waterford Adult and Pediatric Medicine and the St. Joe's Waterford Urgent Care. The medical complex will also provide patients convenient access to outpatient services, including general diagnostics services such as lab draws and, beginning in July, x-rays.
Waterford Adult and Pediatric Medicine employs six physicians and two nurse practitioners while the St. Joe's Waterford Urgent Care is staffed by two dedicated physicians.
“Our hospital has identified Waterford as an area where we can make a tremendous impact on the overall health and well-being of the community," said Shannon Striebich, president of St. Joseph Mercy Oakland. "We are invested in this community and look forward to continuing to provide care to local residents in this new, convenient location."
Offering walk-in medical care, an urgent care fills the need for non-emergency minor illness and injury such as sprains, wounds requiring stitches, rashes and illnesses such as cold and flu. Student sports physicals will also be offered on a walk-in basis.
"As a physician committed to offering high quality care to my patients, I am excited to see St. Joe's bring together all these medical resources into one convenient location," said Leslie Caren, MD, site director of Waterford Adult and Pediatric Medicine. "We look forward to partnering with our patients and providing them with the support and guidance they need to live their best life."
The Waterford Medical Complex will host an open house for the public on Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The community is invited to tour the facility and meet with staff and physicians.
