Hospital closes Donation Center; continues accepting donations via hotline

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (May 13, 2020) – St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor has relocated its curbside COVID-19 screening and testing site for patients that meet the CDC and State of Michigan testing criteria. The site is still located on the hospital's campus, however, it will now be located near the north entrance of the main hospital tower. A physician's order is NOT required for screening, however, if you have a doctor's order for testing, please bring that prescription and you will be tested.

St. Joe's is offering this service to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the risk to patients and their families.

The curbside Covid-19 screening site allows for individuals to be screened and tested without ever leaving their vehicles. Symptoms that qualify for Covid-19 testing include any one of the following:

  • Fever above 100 degrees / Chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sore throat
  • Diarrhea
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Muscle pain/aches in the last seven days

WHEN: Open 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., seven days a week

WHERE: St. Joe's curbside screening and testing site is located near the hospital's north entrance, at 5360 McAuley Drive in Ypsilanti.

WHO: Open to the public, no prescreen or appointment is necessary.

In addition to the screening and testing site, IHA and St. Joe’s Medical Group providers continue to offer e-visits and video appointments for patients. These services provide virtual access to much needed health care, all from the safety of a patient's own home.

The hospital also recently ended operation of its Donation Center. Over the past several weeks, St. Joe's has received overwhelming support from colleagues, vendors, and the community that has helped address the COVID-19 pandemic. Moving forward, the hospital will continue to accept donations, including cloth masks, however, it requests that all drop-offs be arranged in advance. Members of the community interested in donating to the hospital should call the COVID-19 PPE Donation Line at 734-712-0545 to make arraignments. This phone line is answered Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
