CANTON, Nov. 19, 2018 — St. Joseph Mercy Oakland and St. Mary Mercy Livonia, member hospitals of Saint Joseph Mercy

Health System, have once again been designated “Most Wired” hospitals according to The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) Healthcare’s 2018 Most Wired survey. This is the sixth consecutive year St. Joe's Oakland has been recognized with the Most Wired designation and the second year for St. Mary Mercy.

"Our hospitals look for opportunities to use applications that can improve quality and safety for our patients," said David Bobryk, director of Clinical Informatics at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System. "We are thrilled once again to have two of our hospitals named among the most technologically advanced in the country."

According to CHIME Healthcare’s analysis of the Most Wired survey results, hospitals and health systems at the forefront of using health care IT to improve the delivery of care have maximized the benefits of foundational technologies and are embracing new technologies that support population management and value-based care. The most successful hospitals doing this, including St.

Joe's Oakland and St. Mary Mercy, not only adopt technology but apply it strategically to achieve great outcomes.

Over the last year, St. Joe's Oakland and St. Mary Mercy have continued to deploy technologies through each of their respective hospitals. Some of the advancements include:

Rollout of telecommunication devices and applications to ensure secure texting and better information sharing across patient units.

Improved clinical and administrative analytics that help identify areas of focus for elevating quality and reducing cost of care. Improved teletracking capabilities to follow the movements of important medical equipment and to improve patient flow throughout the hospital.

Now in its 20 year, the Most Wired survey highlights technology strengths and gaps in the health care industry. The goal of the survey is to identify best practices and to promote the strategic use of health care IT to elevate the health and care of communities around the world.
