The trauma center at Trinity Health Oakland Hospital is verified as a Level II Trauma Center by the Verification Review Committee (VRC), an ad hoc committee of the Committee on Trauma (COT) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). This achievement recognizes the trauma center's dedication to providing the highest levels of clinical quality care to injured patients.
A Level II Trauma Center designation means our nationally recognized leadership in critical care is raised to an even higher level and gives first responders, patients and the community increased access to highly specialized care during emergency situations. Verification as a Level II Trauma Center ensures that patients with severe injuries receive priority access to the full array of Trinity Health Emergency - Oakland Hospital resources, including in-house coverage for trauma surgery, anesthesia, critical care and radiology, as well as cardiology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular and thoracic care.
