Core Faculty
Grace Chen, MDDr. Grace Chen attended the University of Michigan for her undergraduate degree and the University of Cincinnati for medical school. She completed her residency at Trinity Health Ann Arbor in 2024, and following this joined as a faculty member of the residency program. Her interests include global health, immigrant, and refugee health, as well as medical education. |

Pamela Davies, MDDr. Pam Davies received her undergraduate degree at Holy Cross and her medical degree at the University of Michigan where she stayed on to complete her residency in Ob/Gyn. She has extensive experience in global health, previously working for Catholic Relief Services. Prior to coming to St. Joe’s as a generalist in 2003, she was clinical faculty at the University of Michigan. She currently serves as the Site Medical Director of the Academic Ob/Gyn Center (our resident continuity office) and her interests include medical ethics and DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) concerns for our patients, staff and colleagues. |

Lisa Jeffries, MDDr. Lisa Jeffries received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed her residency training at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids. Prior to joining St. Joe’s in 2004, she worked in an underserved clinic in Colorado as a generalist. In addition to being a core faculty member in resident education, Dr. Jeffries also splits her time between her own private practice, and her leadership role as the Director of Gynecology. She finds inspiration in the enthusiasm of the interns, is motivated by the excellence of the graduating seniors, and engaged by the residents in between. |

Deborah Landis Lewis, MDDr. Deb Landis Lewis is the Associate Program Director for the OB/Gyn residency at Trinity Health Hospital Ann Arbor, Michigan. She received her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Magee-Womens Hospital (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center). Dr. Landis Lewis joined Trinity Health in 2015 and became an Associate Program Director in 2016. She has received awards in compassionate care, humanism in medicine, and recognition for excellence in medical student education. Her clinical interests include care for incarcerated women and other marginalized groups, disparities in women’s health, and group prenatal care. |

Erika Mowers, MDDr. Erika Mowers attended the University of Michigan for undergrad, medical school, residency and MIGS fellowship. She started at St. Joes in 2016 and specializes in complex minimally invasive surgery and chronic pelvic pain. She runs the Advanced Gynecology Clinic and serves as the medical student clerkship director and residency research director. Additionally, she has been influential in our enhanced pre-operative conference that occurs bi-monthly. She is also the ACOG young physician representative for the state of Michigan. |

Heather Wahl, MDDr. Heather Wahl attended the University of Michigan for undergrad, medical school, residency, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) fellowship. In addition to fellowship training, Dr. Wahl has obtained her focused practice in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. After graduating fellowship in 2018, she joined Promedica Health System in Toledo, OH, where she developed a chronic pelvic pain clinic and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery clinic. After becoming a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) in 2020 she also started a menopause clinic. Dr. Wahl started Trinity Health in August 2024 and continues her focus on complex minimally invasive surgery, chronic pelvic pain, and menopause. She is part of the core Academic OB/GYN faculty and serves as the OB/GYN residency MIGS curriculum director and residency research director. |

Marti Walsh, MDDr. Marti Walsh received her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine after her undergraduate work at Albion College. She completed her residency training here at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and has been in clinical Ob/Gyn practice for over 20 years, practicing at the Academic Ob/Gyn Center for the past four years. She is passionate about mentorship and believes that residents learn best in a caring environment. Dr. Walsh is also the Chief Quality and Population Health Officer for IHA (Integrated Health Associates) and particularly enjoys working on quality improvement projects with the Ob/Gyn residents. |
