No One Dies Alone

A young female volunteer stands with a clipboard in the middle of a room of other volunteers. They're collecting items in boxes.

No One Dies Alone (NODA) is a volunteer program that provides the presence of a companion to dying patients who would otherwise be alone. With the support of the Trinity Health Livonia nursing staff, companions are able to help provide terminally ill patients with the gift of respect and dignity.

No one is born alone and, in the best of circumstances, no one dies alone. Yet from time to time terminally ill patients have neither family nor close friends to be with them as they near the end of life. No medical skills or previous experience are necessary. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer as a "Compassionate Companion" for the No One Dies Alone Program, please contact Barbara Stephen at 248-858-3039, 734-655-2912 or Barbara.stephen@trinity-health.org.
