Palliative Care

Palliative Care

Palliative care is an approach to health care that focuses on symptom management and the relief of suffering. It is designed to help provide the highest quality of life possible for people with serious illnesses, or conditions that are life-limiting. Palliative care can be provided as an alternative to curative treatment, or in addition to treatment.

In our care model, the patient is at the center of the team directing and controlling their choices. Palliative care helps patients and families understand the disease process and progression in order to set realistic goals and expectations. Family members can feel secure that their loved one is receiving the most comprehensive support for pain relief and quality of life through their treatment.
