He blamed his bad attitude on me, and failed to provide any information that Was new to me. His staff was forced to scrounge up material to help me before I went home.

He referred to me as an octogenarian, in effect lumping me with every other 84 year old. I felt he didn't see me as an individual. When I asked if I had a lot of arthritis in my back, he just responded by saying 84 years worth. I felt discounted. Surgeons have a reputation of being unfeeling with a big ego and Dr. McMahon fit the perception quit well.

This doctor was COLD; VERY IMPERSONAL; and LACK GENERAL CONCERN regarding my health issues. I was 'very' DISAPPOINTED WHEN I LEFT.
Dr. MacMahon ordered an MRI prior to this visit and we looked at it together. He was very thorough showing me the before and after results of my surgery. He is an excellent surgeon.

He seemed more interested in pushing pills than finding the cause of my problem. A colon test has been talked about three times and not done.
Dr. MacMahon went over MRI with me and pointed out trouble areas and discussed symptoms related to these areas.

I was referred to the pain clinic @ St. Joe's. They were terrible. I had to called them several times to schedule an appointment. NO one mans the phone at the pain clinic. It takes days for them to call you back. Negative zero is their score.
Review of my MRI after radiation treatment. MRI results easily shared through St. Joe's data system. This made my visit easier with Dr. Macmahon & supplied him with information needed.
Dr. McMahon reviewed the MRI recently taken of my spine. He explained perfectly the findings of the MRI to me and my husband which explained some of my physical complaints but that no surgery was needed. He did refer me to another office for consultation for possible physical therapy to help stabilize me.

I was given detailed reasons why surgery is not called for at this time, unlike neurosurgeons at HFHS who wanted to do surgery[ . . . ]. Dr. MacMahon explained why not at this time, and offered an alternative treatment.

He doesn't listen too well. Seems that his thoughts and opinions were good but he didn't really listen to my problems too much. He didn't know what was really causing my problems so he left it at if I needed more advice to call him. He also doesn't have a personality. He doesn't know how to smile.
Dr. MacMahon made me feel totally secure in getting me on the road to healing after a very painful period. Never stopped finding a way to help me.
