Melissa I. Chang, MD, FASCRS, FACS, is board-certified in general surgery, and colon and rectal surgery. Dr. Chang has clinical interests in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic approaches for colon and rectal cancer, benign diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulitis, and pelvic floor disorders. Dr. Chang also specializes in the workup and treatment of fecal incontinence, diarrhea and anorectal disease including abscesses, fistulas and hemorrhoids.

The only comment would be that what Dr. Chang explained was very informative, I just needed her to slow down a bit so I could absorb it better. I was "drinking from a fire hose" so to speak. She is a super friendly, awesome person in my estimation.

They explained a lot while the procedure was going on, and at the time it was a lot to process in an awkward position, but I was glad to see all the information appear in the post visit notes. Luckily I had a heating blanket at home, but being advised to have that and acetominophen on hand for post procedure would be good info to have going into the procedure.

Dr. Chang disregarded my feedback and persisted with her original hypothesis of 'drink water, eat fiber'.I informed Dr. Chang that I am on a high fiber vegetarian diet and have recent results showing 'off the charts' water intake. Dr. Chang was not receptive of my personal experience. This was a wasted appointment, and I feel embarrassed.
