Kortney earned a doctoral degree in physical therapy from the University of Michigan – Flint. While a student, she received an award from the Consortium on Multiple Sclerosis Centers for group research conducted on the topic, "Body, Weight Support Treadmill Training in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis."
Her approach to treatment includes using a variety of techniques including manual therapy, such as joint and soft tissue mobilization, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and therapeutic exercise.
Kortney has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, enjoys running and spending time with her family.
