Dr. Smalley earned his medical degree from the
Michigan State University College of Osteopathic
Medicine in East Lansing, MI. He completed a
residency in family medicine at the Mercy Health
Muskegon residency program in Muskegon, MI.
He seeks to provide care for the entire family and
has a special interest in preventative medicine,
wellness promotion and addiction medicine.
When asked about his philosophy of care, Dr.
Smalley said, 

“I strive to make the health care
experience a shared decision-making process
with a team-based approach to care.” 

Dr. Smalley enjoys traveling and spending time
outside with his wife and son. He also likes to

The doctor advised that he was relocating to another part of the country but offered that Trinity Health had requested that he remain on their staff and continue to see patients virtually and offered that service to me. I was glad to hear that and readily accepted the offer because he provides ideal care in my view.
