I have been with Michigan Heart for about 20 years, and was not unhappy with my prior physician, though I never felt I was fully informed. Since he retired and I have been with Dr. Holtze I have felt just the opposite - she explains clearly and for what reasons she believes each action is apropos. She adjusted my bp meds and that seems to already have had an impact one day later. She also chose to schedule an echocardiogram not because there is any apparent change in my aortic murmur, but rather because it has been 4 years since I had one and she wants confirmation that my condition is not diminishing. At age 83, these 2 examples seem to me to be 'smart medicine'.
She was very good at explaining the POC with clarity.
I am seventy seven years old and I have had many health issues over my lifetime, but I rank Dr Holtze as the best doctor I have ever had. She is not only extremely intelligent, but she cares about your health and wellbeing.

I was ask to arrive fifteen minutes early for my appointment. When I arrived I had to wait seven minutes before I was ask who I was. Then I had to fill out a questionnaire that I filled out on line. Kinda redundant but I answered.

Dr. Holtze is always excellent. She may have been a bit distracted during my last visit which is understandable sometimes. Also, it is a bit frustrating that after 4+ years, the combination of care providers can't seem to determine the root cause of my "atypical" symptoms. I would assess over time - I seem to be getting better....but that just means the issue is happening less frequently and in different manners....but not solved.
So happy to find this doctor (Holtze) for my heart health.

Dr. Holtze is an excellent provider-absolutely satisfied there. I wish the scheduling process was easier and more efficient. I had to call back several times to secure the appointment. Often when calling I was told the doctor's schedule wasn't posted yet and to call back after a certain date. Then when I did so, I was told the exact same thing and had to call back again. Yikes. There has to be an easier way?

This was my first visit to Michigan Heart and the first with Dr. Holtz. She was very informed, had a great way of driving the visit and explained everything regarding my heart health issues in a manner that I clearly understood.
Dr Holtz listened to my concerns and was reassuring that what I was doing for my maintenance of health was correct and I should continue.
The doctor was very nice. I was just not very happy with how long it took to get set up with the 30 day heart monitor. I would have preferred to have it mailed to me. But it would have been 3 weeks after my appt before I received it. That is a ridiculous long wait.

I having falls due to the heart and pulse. I had to wait so my home care suggested that I see a local doctor. I guess I expected more help then I received. I was having irritated heart beats. I've been on medication for it and she told me that after 40 years I did not have Afib. I been on bated blockers plus blood thinners.
As always, I am extremely Impressed by my care and Dr Holtze was very, very thorough and spent a lot of time in her busy day to discuss my health situation.

Dr. Holtze asked a lot of questions and listen to the answers which made me feel that she is genuinely concerned about your medical situation. She explained everything in easy to understand instructions and asked your opinion on the steps forward which I believe was a way to voice your opinion and also to let her know that you understood her instructions.
