My first visit with this doctor. I liked him very much and he was very caring.
Frankly, I am not sure what is next. I requested and received a Rx for knee braces for both L and R knee braces. Good. It was not clear to me what Dr Schultz suggested for next steps. I guess it is up to me. I have no cartilage on the inside of both the left and right knees. And I have arthritic pain in both hips. I interpreted his comments to mean "call the office when you think the pain Is too much to bear and you need a joint replacement". I don't even need to have another office visit with him. Just call the office and make a surgery appointment. For what? Left knee? Right knee? Hips? I am confused. Clearly my health care is up to me, not a doctor. Don't know what I will do. And I should point out that I came to this doctor because he was recommended by friends that had both knee and hip surgery and they were very happy with Dr Karl Schultz.

Dr. Schultz answered my questions. I asked the question if I fell on my knee how would it be handled to repair it and he explained what would happen. Really liked his explanation.

Very satisfied with my experience. The surgery corrected my problem with my hip. Still have issues with my legs and feet and lower back. Dr. Schultz said he would correct 70% of problem witih hip sugery - he was right.

I wanted an assessment of my 20 year old replaced knee. Xrays and examination showed no loosening which would indicate failure. However I did have some discomfort which was explained as a bursa sac. I was told to do some extended calf exercises that I assumed were to deal with that. I was told to return in 5 years or sooner if things changed. That's all I can judge this surgeon on.

This was a consulting visit preliminary to potential surgery. The Dr Schultz and his several assistants did a very good job of both soliciting information from me and providing information and advice to me.
Dr. Schultz was great! I had called a couple weeks earlier to get an appointment with him, but couldn't get one for a month. At the time, I was in a lot of pain, and the person answering the phone said I could see Dr. Chrissos. I took the appt. When I saw Dr. Chrissos he asked if I had tried to get in to see Dr. Schultz. He said they had been having trouble with scheduling, and that Dr. Schultz was there. He asked him if he had see me, and he DID - right then! We talked about the scheduling situation, and he let me know that I should always be able to get in to see him, and to ask the scheduler to ask him if they weren't able to get me in. That made me feel a lot better about calling in the future, and to be assertive in getting an appt. with my surgeon. Dr. Chrissos was also great, but I see why the surgeons want to keep seeing their own patients, as much as we patients want to see our own surgeons.
