I've seen Dr. Long for 12 years! Although I have seen other doctors in the practice she is really the one who listens and cares for each patient.
She used a few terms that I wasn't sure I understood, and my teenage daughter certainly did not understand them, so I asked a lot of questions and had to interrupt her a few times. But she was very nice about it.

No one asked me what meds Im on, no other usual patient check-in questions asked other than blood pressure taken and weight asked. My meds need to be updated, but i have no way to do that.

In addition to the second question, I asked for a minute during the appointment to compose myself, and she remained in the room and continued talking. She did not clearly communicate the risks or read my chart prior to the appointment. She did not understand current protocols related to the surgery information I was seeking, and she did not ask the pertinent questions related to my circumstances. She talked about herself, did not provide a listening ear,.and did not exercise comfort or care during the appointment.

the exam was very basic and not as involved as other annual gyn exams
The provider did not provide any answers to my reason of visit and did not let me know the visit was over. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to leave or not and no one directed me on next steps. I felt completely dissatisfied with the services provided.
I felt dismissed as a 59 year old woman, yet women my age die from simple diseases that go undetected. Dr. Long seemed dismissive of my concerns.
She has provided any help or advice I have ever needed, including a surgery. She has called me on several occasions to discuss questions that I may have.
I don't blame the doctor - am sure she is pressed to do exams as quick as possible.

Gina Long was very sweet. This was my first Gynecology appointment, and I was very nervous. She took the first several minutes to talk and get to know me and my situation, and she explained exactly what she'd be doing before starting any of the actual examination. She explained everything very simply and clearly, and when I was confused or didn't understand something she did well at explaining it in a better way to make sure I understood before she moved on. She asked multiple times if I had any other questions and made sure I had everything I had come to mind addressed before she dismissed us. The actual gynecological examination was super quick and painless, and she was very gentle and made me feel safe and comfortable with her.
Pleasant enough but provider seemed like she was in a rush and was trying hard not to show it.
I was also provided with information on when I should schedule a return visit. I have already recommended Dr. Long to a family member. Dr. Long is knowledgeable and caring. She understands what is important to me and can customize my medical care to those needs as well as making appropriate recommendations.

This has been my most rushed visit with an IHA provider. I hope this is not indicative of how this practice is run usually. I was a patient of Dr. Menon at the Domino's Farm facility and every visit with her was exceptional. Since Dr. Menon retired this year, I had to choose a different doctor from that practice. I chose Dr. Long at the West Arbor facility since it is close to home. I expected the same level of service, but was very disappointed. Instructions to get ready before the doctor's visit was not explained very well. I wasn't sure if I had to wear my exam gown or wait for the doctor. The doctor barged in thinking I was ready, when I was actually waiting for instructions. I was given barely any time to gown up. The doctor examined me as if it was a drive-by exam. I truly hope this was a one-off day. I am considering go back to the Domino's Farm IHA and see a different doctor the next time. My experience with the general physician at the West Arbor facility has been excellent, so I am wondering if the ObGyn practice is the only one that's sub par here?

The office was very busy and the front desk receptionists were having to deal with several 'unusual' (i.e., 'high maintenance' as I call them) patient situations just In the brief 30 minutes or so that I sat In the waiting room. They handled everything with grace and professionalism. Dr. Long is always thorough, kind and listens intently to any questions or concerns I may have.

Doctor was great. Office just seemed a little chaotic for the day which is definitely not the norm.
I wish there was less paperwork. I did the online registration, which eliminated some of the paperwork, but there was still a physical page that had to be filled out when I arrived. I'd understand if it was asking for NEW information, but it was asking for things that this office already has on file. It's quite redundant and a waste of paper.

Dr. Long is very caring, knowledgeable, empathetic, and is a great listener. She is always prepared before she meets with me. Before she provided me with her recommendation for my care she clearly and thoroughly explained my diagnosis and the attendant issues; she then provided her recommendation for how to treat my condition and the steps to expect throughout the treatment period. She also encouraged me to call her immediately if I had trouble tolerating the medication and she told me the course she would take if that occurred. I felt very cared for and expertly treated. I'm so glad Dr. Long is my doctor and that she is guiding me through this.
