Dr. Bouwens earned his medical degree from University of Michigan. He is fluent in Spanish, and his clinical interests include cross-cultural medicine; care to the underserved; migraine, allergy and asthma; early detection of skin cancer; dermoscopy; women’s health; nutrition; prevention of chronic disease; and the role of exercise in diet and health.
