As I have marked everyone was polite and caring. The doctor saw us shortly after we were ushered into a room. We felt that he knew our problem and was willing to listen to our concerns and give us a path forward.

How to clarify the physical problem and the need for a surgical solution.
I was shocked that when my surgery was the 23rd of July my post op appointment was not until August 3.

Michigan Brain & Spine has exceptional Doctors (Dr. Geiger) & staff and I would recommend this office to anyone. However, due to previous operations there doesn't seem to be any relief for the back pain that I've suffered with for over 20 years. Dr. Geiger has said that he will confer with his colleagues to see if there is any way possible to relieve my pain.
I asked for the referral to address spinal issues and possible treatment as the HFA pain clinic has reached the end of their options I was given information on my spine that is already well known - he didn't even really look or touch my back.
My experience was very positive, great dr., great staff. I was treated very good.
I talked to *Terri, she told me I needed to have x-rays done. This was on Monday. She said she would have the orders called in. So I went up the next night and they did not have the orders so it was a wasted trip costing 8.50 in gas.

This was my second post op visit -
Back hip/leg pain. He talked about surgery, but I'm not ready for that. Trying all other options first.
The staff were very welcoming, prompt, and friendly.
He explained everything I needed to know about my X-ray & what had to be done.

The only thing I thought office personnel could have done differently is to call me about the one hour delay, rather than wait to tell me when I arrived. On the other hand, perhaps office was just informed themselves.
My visit was a good experience, just not the outcome I was hoping for.
I had emergency back surgery last Thanksgiving - subsequent follow-up visits were routine & excellent. The... to the surgery was more problematic. ) I couldn't get key tests till I met with Dr. Geiger, who asked me for the results of the tests & was obviously frustrated by his staff's refusal to the texts in advance. He also had case that we could have moved toward surgery a bit more rapidly - as it was, I endured considerable pain - briefly, the worst of my life. These, however, are secondary issues. I want to emphasize that when Dr. Geiger grasped the severity of the situation, he immediately got me admitted to the hospital & scheduled for the next open surgical slot. Care in the hospital before & after surgery was excellent. Most important, as with the microdiscectomy Dr. Geiger performed 3 years ago, the spinal fusion surgery this time was the right call and as in the earlier case, the results have been outstanding. I'm very pleased & grateful. So, of course I would recommend Dr. Geiger to anyone in a similar situation - and indeed have done so! Can only hope I do my job as well as he does his - [ . . . ]

Dr. Geiger was a wonderful first experience with a potential surgeon for a problem I have been having with my neck. He was not hurried, was very easy to speak with, listened to anything I had to add to the conversation and was very thorough in his exam and explanations.
I'm sure I am asking too much, but it would be nice if 1)The staff said hello or good day and asked your name 2) Introduced themselves to you This was the first time I was asked if I would like to pay my copay before seeing the doctor?Waited in the exam room for 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment and after being asked to be there early. (patients time is also important!) I almost left, but since it took over a month to get the appointment I waited.
Dr Geiger is an outstanding surgeon and I respect and trust his abilities and recommendations

He spent approximately 5 min. with me. After reading his notes on MyChart I wonder if he actually saw me or if I was totally zoned out during visit. Notes in MyChart said he talked abt. things we never talked abt. One thing is contrary to what is actual fast.
I had surgery 2 1/2 months ago. I am no better. Very discouraged to be told that I just have to live with back pain, use walking stick and get more shots. I was then told I have severe deterioration. My question is why was I considered for back surgery if there was so much deterioration. I had numerous tests prior to surgery. I've had many shots, I did everything the doctors asked me to do. My friends ask me the question, 'why did Dr Geiger recommend the surgery if you have so much deterioration in your lower back'..and I don't know the answer. I am greatly disappointed and I am still in same pain I have had for years. My walking/standing is no better.
First time I have been in this office. The doctor was a very friendly individual, easy to understand, and truly concerned about my well being.

I didn't feel that he truly listened to what I had to say. I felt like he had his plan of care in his head and didn't want to shift from that plan. I wanted to try other options before a brace but he didn't think they would work and didn't explain why.
Dr. was very professional,knew exactly what he could do to fix my back and to take care of the tumor pressing against my spinal cord.

very disappointing from the start. I arrived at 1120a. my appointment was 1140a, I was placed in room Dr. did not arrive in room until approximately 1220p. the Dr. did not seem interested in listening to all I had to say, rather told me his thoughts, I felt very dismissed. the visit was maybe 10 min long. so my insurance was billed for a visit that I was lucky to have 10 min of his time, ridiculous.
Dr. Geiger was the surgeon who performed a laminectomy and fusion in [ . . . ], and my visit with regard to this survey was my three month check up with him. He is very pleasant and easy to talk to.
