Dr. Lyons did not seem interested in treating me. He did not address my concerns or explain the procedure and potential results of it.
As a black women, seeking medical attention has always been my worry due to the negative experiences black women experience when seeking healthcare. Once I first met and had a consultation with Dr. Lyons, I knew I was in good hands. I knew that he was not only going to ensure that everything goes smoothly but also that he prioritized me. I am not sure if it is common practice, but I SO appreciated having Dr. Lyons have the female nurse come in while measuring my chest. It made me feel really comfortable and I appreciated the thoughtfulness of doing so. If it is common practice, that is also great!

Dr Lyon's support staff, including NP Emma and MAs Andrea and especially Fatima are excellent. His staff is really on top of things. I have gotten phone calls back within minutes of asking a question on MyChart. When I first met Dr. Lyons, I was still in a bit of shock re my dx and he spent more than an hour with me and my partner, patiently answering all the questions we had; we didn't feel rushed at all. He is very polite and seems sensitive. I forgot the name of the gal at the front desk, but she is very polite and always remembered my name after the first visit, and his support staff Yolanda is also really on top of keeping the surgical schedule. They were all great and I have referred a friend to this team.

I was expecting the procedure to be performed that day, but was told it was only a consult.
The doctor was rude and seemed like he had somewhere better to be. We were talking he kept talking over us. It was obvious he wasn't interested. We were asking him questions and he got annoyed and wanted leave. Terrible experience I expected better from IHA
I was not impressed. Overall my time with the provider I felt like I was being dismissed. We agreed to schedule a MRI and I followed the procedure to make that appointment but the provider ordered the wrong test and I had to call the office to get the right test ordered and recieved no call back to the current day.
Dr. Lyon's is kind and empathetic.

Absolutely excellent. Dr. Lyons is so well informed about my condition and needs before he even enters the room. I had a nurse and an observation nurse performing my drain removal and they were absolutely delightful and so good with handling me and my nervous tendencies. I'd love for Fatima and the other nurse (I'm so sorry I never remembered her name) to be recognized for their fabulous assistance. Fatima held my hand (literally) through the entire process and helped to calm me and my momma.

I liked Dr Lyons very much. He provided thorough information and drew pictures himself rather than relying on printed material. This small thing made me more confident in his abilities and depth of knowledge. He spoke to me directly rather than relying on a nurse practitioner or medical assistant to provide information. I wasn't just handed a pamphlet and sent out the door (yes, I have had a bad experience recently with another plastic suregon)
The dr. was very good and explained everything so I could understand it. Highly recommend Dr. Lyons & anyone.
