About

"I have always been fascinated by the body’s ability to perform and allow us to accomplish our simplest and most difficult tasks. I love understanding how we generate and redirect forces without making the conscious decision to do so. I was first introduced to physical therapy when I was recovering from sports injuries in high school, but I started college as an engineering major. After a few semesters, I switched to a more fitting health science degree. That was when I realized that physical therapy was the perfect combination of math, science, and anatomy. I love being able to learn about the body and immediately apply my knowledge to improve patients’ function and quality of life."

Brett holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Biology from Western Michigan University. He earned a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Wayne State University, where he assisted in research focused on the correlation between grip strength and early cognitive decline in middle aged adults. His research group presented their findings at the MPTA Fall Conference in Detroit.

He enjoys treating a variety of patients and has taken several continuing education courses through Great Lakes Seminars. Brett is currently working toward becoming a Certified Integrated Manual Therapist (CIMT).

Brett enjoys travelling, hiking, playing and watching a variety of sports, spending time with family and playing video games.
