Dr. Marquardt speaks very fast and is sometimes hard to understand, especially when wearing a mask. I am hearing impaired even with hearing aides, I have to ask her to repeat herself and there are times when I still can't understand her.
Sometimes it feels a little rushed but I am at a place in my diagnosis that hours of questions would probably feel rushed.
Extremely pleased with my first visit.
Besides office visits, Dr M is quick to respond to questions and messages and questions that arise.

I was told I had rheumatoid arthritis, time went on, I suffered a medication reaction, decided to get a second opinion. The opinion was I don't think you have RA, they thought possible connective tissue disease like lupus. She admitted she doesn't think I have RN, but will only change my diagnosis to UCTD.
Dr. Marquardt listened, was empathetic with new kidney problem and surgery. Concerned about antibody against COVID.
Dr. April was very caring and concerned about getting to the bottom of my problem and was honest about likely not finding anything wrong as many other doctors have tried.

I have osteoarthritis, I asked if I could get any other relief, didn't check the foot or hands - and said - NO I have checked with other rheumatologist and YES I can get injections for pain - THANK-YOU.

Short When provider said let's take a look at your joints, she took my hands in hers, looked down for 2 seconds, dropped them, and went back to her computer. She asked do you need refill and a couple how's it going with job, retirement plans, and done.
As usual this visit was a very good follow up for my health needs .

I know masks make discussions difficult, but I would like the doctor to talk slower and in layman's terms as I had to ask numerous questions because I'm not educated on medical terminology.

I don't think enough time was scheduled for an initial rheumatologist appointment but I understand the insurance companies and the medical systems treat the doctors like they are just employees. History and physical should not be rushed through with a new patient. Again this is more of a systems issue rather than a doctor issue.
