It was a very quick appointment. And I鈥檓 not sure why it was so quick. She was in, she was out. I remember returning to the waiting room and thinking wait. What am I supposed to do now? Did I have any questions? Everything in the appointment just happened so fast.

I've been seeing Dr. Thompson as my primary doctor for about 3 years. It has always been a satisfactory and happy experience when meeting Dr. Thompson and her care team. They would patiently listen to whatever problems that I have, thoroughly examine, order tests, and explain clearly to my understanding. I did have a chronic illness for about 5 years. After I selected Dr. Thompson among six other providers, I've been under her treatments for 3 years. Now, my health conditions have been recovered 95%+, and, looking forwards to a full recovery in the near future. I'm very thankful, and, feel so fortunate to have Dr. Thompson as my primary doctor.

She only ever seems concerned with what's going on that day, not any history that may be contributing to that day. Doesn't wait for full answers or ask follow up questions. For example, she asked if I exercised & I said yes. But after the test results she told me to start exercising.
Not only is Dr. Thompson knowledgeable but she is warm and friendly.

I should be able to get into my primary doctor, isn't that why we have primary doctors? They know you and your history. I was forced to go to Urgent Care, and didn't get the care I needed. You should keep appointments available for us to see our primary doctors.
My nurse spent more time with me than my doctor did. My doctor gave me paper work about the wrong kind of chronic illness that I have.

Im a new patient for IHA/St Joes and Dr Thompson. She did a great job.

I had two providers, the person who took my vitals and the doctor. The person who took my vitals was fine. The doctor didn't ask me about my eating, exercise or other habits that are essential for health. She didn't check me for any precancerous skin tags, listen to my heart/lungs or anything else I would expect in a standard checkup.

No disrespect intended but , I didn't really feel that she cared that much about me or my care. Felt more like a 20 minute time slot she needed to complete. For example, I lost 28 lbs trying to get my A1C down. No words of encouragement offered. Also, when she informed me In 'my chart ' that my results were now normal , she never told me if or when I needed to come back to see her. Little or no direction given. She is not a good fit as my new primary care physician and I am so hoping to replace her with Dr. Brian Blum. Apparently one cannot just change primary care doc without going through the proper channels. I'm working on it.

This was my first appt with this doctor. My previous doctor recently retired. This doctor had reviewed my slim case file and ordered the tests I needed.
I feel as though I was not heard by Dr Thompson. I have seen her several times for chronic issues and have expressed how much pain and discomfort I am in day-to-day and nothing is really done to figure out the issues besides basic blood work. I know part of this is the fault of the system, but I wish I could get a more thorough, empathetic experience.

Dr. Thompson was very courteous and listened to me in a way that no PCP ever has.
