Robert Lyons, MD is board-certified in thoracic surgery and in general surgery. Dr. Lyons completed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles and was awarded the James L. Cox Fellowship by the American Association for Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Lyons clinical interests include coronary artery bypass grafting, treating aortic valve disease with minimally invasive approaches such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), minimally invasive atrial fibrillation surgery (MAZE procedure), and aortic aneurysm disease.

Dr. Lyons was very confident and encouraging pre and post surgery . He did an excellent job during the surgery and my family felt I was in 鈥済ood hands's. After surgery I saw him everyday and he was very knowledgeable about my recovery as well as informing me of any possible complications. I would recommend Dr.Lyons to anyone that may need heart surgery in the future.

Dr. Lyons was obviously backed up from earlier appointments yesterday morning, but he still was most patient in our meeting, taking time to explain my recent CT scan to me, and talking about progress I had made in the 7 months plus following my surgery.
