About

"As a prior athlete and dancer, I have always been fascinated by the capabilities of the human body. It is very rewarding knowing that as a physical therapist I can help improve an individual’s quality of life through application and knowledge of body mechanics, structure and function."

Leah holds a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University in health fitness in preventative and rehabilitative programs and earned a doctoral of physical therapy from the University of Michigan-Flint.

She has furthered her education by becoming a Certified Integrated Manual Therapist (CIMT), which signifies a more advanced approach to evaluating and interpreting symptoms as well as proficiency in providing a variety of treatments consisting of hands-on intervention. Leah has been invited to be an assistant instructor for physical therapy seminars, which emphasize manual therapy techniques.

Leah has a vested interest in athletic performance and return to sport for all degrees and areas of athleticism with commitment to injury prevention and screening of athletes. Additionally, she has further progressed her education in the field of pelvic health with plans to achieve her Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) in the next year.

She is a co-founder of the University of Michigan-Flint’s Student Run Pro Bono Clinic: PT HEART, developing and holding the position of clinician coordinator. She also has clinical experience from the University of Michigan Health System's Cardiovascular Medicine in cardiac rehabilitation as a prior exercise physiologist.

Leah enjoys outdoor activities like fishing and hiking, playing recreational sports, and CrossFit workouts, spending time with her husband, Tim, family and friends.
