Austin Righter, PT, DPT, AT, CIMT, Clinic Director

"I decided to become a physical therapist after observing my mother going through physical therapy for her knee while I was in college. It was a match made in heaven for me in this career of medicine as I have always been in athletics, and passionate about training and injury prevention for everyone."

Austin earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training from Michigan State University and holds a doctoral degree in physical therapy from the University of Michigan-Flint.

He has played sports his entire life and enjoys working with all athletes including golfers, runners, hockey players, football players, and more. As an athletic trainer, he has worked with Michigan State University football and track/field athletes to rehab from injuries.

While completing his graduate studies, Austin performed balance research at the University of Michigan and is published in Rehabilitation Oncology, with "Self-reported Balance Confidence Relates to Perceived Mobility Limitations in Older Cancer Survivors."

Currently, he plans to complete Great Lakes Seminar courses to become a Certified Integrated Manual Therapist (CIMT), and is very passionate about utilizing manual therapy and biomechanical analysis to restore health and function.

Austin enjoys hiking, kayaking, playing disc golf, and spending time with his wife.
