On the counsel of other family members, my husband and I assigned Dr. Meram as our primary care physician (PCP) in mid-2023. Dr. Meram is, hands down, the best PCP we've ever had. He and his team are knowledgeable, timely, thorough, caring, respectful, and responsive to any questions, concerns or requests you may have. Those attributes apply to his medical assistant and office team as well. My husband and I feel like VIPs, or at least valued patients, which we did not experience with our prior PCP. Our only regret is not assigning Dr. Meram as our PCP sooner.

He can be straightforward, no dilly daddling around the bush, sometimes you need that, because if you don't get it straight up, you just don't get it or listen. My health is improving because of that, losing weight and bringing down my sugar, in just 3 months I am no longer a diabetic, i still have to watch and keep doing what got me to this point, but if it was not for him, and the way he explained it, i would have kept going down a very dangerous path!

I recently moved my metro Detroit location and also changed health insurance plans. I picked the IHA West Bloomfield Practice not only for its location, but also because it follows the PCMH standards. It follows what PCMH should be: everyone in the practice is energized and focused on delivering high quality care. All of the staff are friendly and worked together to get me through the practice... checkin, history review, discuss medical conditions, needed blood tests and vaccinations and examination. This PCMH practice works like a machine. Dr Marem considered my whole medical picture including my past MyChart patient records from another health system. His questions and examination based on all available evidence. He had practical recommendations, referral and next steps. I've worked in provider settings for many years and I don't make my recommendation here lightly

This was my first time with a new doctor in 30 years. I was VERY apprehensive to switch. However, he was professional, courteous and explained his plan to me in detail so I understood my care plan and his expectations were clear. He gave me the referrals that I needed. He explained all the tests he was running and why he was. He even gave me his cell phone number Incase I needed anything answered afterhours. He made great eye contact instead of looking at his computer the whole time which made r feel like I mattered to him. He made sure I was done taking before he went in my Chart so that he could focus on me instead of my EMR. I also want to note how wonderful your MA Terry is. What a cheerful compassionate focused and kind MA she is. She was so calming and easy to get to know. You are lucky to have someone like her on your team. Please show your gratitude to her hard work. She made me laugh many times all the while she was rooming me efficiently. I'm so happy I found this new office and I feel confident I will receive the care I need and look forward to bringing my family here as well.

Dr. Meram did not care enough about my issues or dive deeper. The nurse showed so much more care than he did around my medical issues. Also DR. Gumma is who I usually see for comparison and she is amazing, so I was disappointed seeing DR. Meram. I most likely will not see him again.
Received the care I needed
I am a new patient to this practice scheduled to see Dr. Pfefferkorn in December. I was running low on my BP med and needed a refill. The office was able to schedule a same day appointment with Dr. Meram. He introduced himself, gave me some of his background work, and then we discussed my current care because previous physician recently retired. Great experience and it was nice of the office to get me scheduled so quickly.

My experience with my provider was great, although rushed. My doctor and his assistant realized I was under a lot of stress and tried to get the care I needed with the little time I had left.
