Trinity Health Michigan Opens Neuroscience Center - Muskegon
November 13, 2023Categories: Neurosciences
Newly renovated and expanded facility provides comprehensive neuroscience care for more patients from Muskegon and the surrounding lakeshore communities.
MUSKEGON, Mich. (November 14, 2023) – Trinity Health Neuroscience Center – Muskegon is now open at 1150 E. Sherman Blvd., on the second floor of Trinity Health Medical Center – Sherman Pavilion.
The Neuroscience Center brings together Trinity Health Medical Group neuroscience specialists who focus on providing diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for people with diseases and conditions affecting the brain, spine, and nervous system.
“Our neuroscience specialists can now work strategically together, in one location, which allows for better collaboration in developing plans of care for their patients,” said Leanna Krukowski, MSN, RN, administrative director of West Michigan Neuroscience Services at Trinity Health Michigan. “It’s incredibly convenient for patients too. They can come to one place, in Muskegon, for most, if not all, of their care.”
As the population continues to age, the demand for care by neuroscience professionals will grow. This is because many diseases that affect the brain and nervous system are age-related, like Alzheimer's or other types of dementia, stroke, and some types of pain.
Trinity Health Neuroscience Center – Muskegon represents a more than $8.7 million investment in the community and nearly doubles the number of people from the region that Trinity Health Medical Group neuroscience specialists can care for.
“Integration, collaboration and convenience will set the Neuroscience Center in Muskegon apart from other choices for care along the lakeshore,” said Gary Allore, president of Trinity Health Muskegon.
The Neuroscience Center brings the latest technology and multiple specialties together including clinics for neurosurgery, neurology, spine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and osteopathic manipulative medicine. In addition, there is an on-site Patient Education Center, physical therapy and rehabilitation gym, EMG and pain injection suite, radiology/imaging and lab services, and a pharmacy.
“The Neuroscience Center in Muskegon is an excellent example of providing expert, coordinated, comprehensive care close to home," said Stacey Merren, chief operating officer of Trinity Health Medical Group.
