LIVONIA, Mich. (Oct. 5, 2023) – Trinity Health Michigan has received the 2023 CHIME Most Wired Award from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, a recognition that the health system has adopted and leveraged information technology to improve patient safety and outcomes throughout its hospitals.
Roughly 55,000 facilities were represented in the 2023 Digital Health Most Wired program, which includes four separate surveys: acute, ambulatory, long-term care and international acute. The surveys assessed the adoption, integration and impact of technologies in health care organizations at all stages of development, from early development to industry leading.
Each participating organization in the survey received a customized benchmarking report, an overall score and scores for individual segments, including: infrastructure; security; innovation; administrative/supply chain; analytics/data management; interoperability/population health; patient engagement; and clinical quality/safety. Participants can use the report and scores to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement. Participants also received certification based on their overall performance, with Level 10 being the highest. Trinity Health Michigan hospitals received Acute Level – 9 and Ambulatory Level 9 scores.
“Trinity Health hospitals throughout Michigan are committed to adopting technology where it makes sense, and where it most benefits our patients and the clinical staff caring for them,” said Shannon Striebich, president and CEO of the Trinity Health Michigan Market. “Technology alone does not improve care. It’s our administrators and caregivers at the bedside who are using this technology that make the real difference. This award reflects their continued commitment to our healing mission and the hard work they have undertaken to apply technology to their work.”
The Digital Health Most Wired survey and recognition program serves as a comprehensive “Digital Health Check-Up” for health care organizations across the world. As success in digital health increasingly determines the quality of patient care, the scope of the 2023 CHIME Digital Health Most Wired Survey reflects the progress of leading health care providers as they reinvent health care for a new century.
