LIVONIA, Mich. (Sept. 20 2018) – St. Mary Mercy Livonia will host its 26th annual charity gala on Friday, October 12 at Laurel Manor Banquet and Conference Center in Livonia. This year's black-tie event, Harleys & Hot Rods, is expected to draw more than 600 attendees and help raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the Healthy Livonia initiative, a collaboration the hospital helped launch in 2016 to create a healthy, supportive environment across Livonia and a good quality of life for all residents.
"The mission of Healthy Livonia is to energize a community-wide focus on healthy living," said Dave Spivey, president & CEO of St. Mary Mercy Livonia. "Along with our partners in this initiative, we have already accomplished so much. Healthy Livonia has helped provide funding to redevelop a family-friendly playground, established a summer swimming program for children, and promoted exercise in the community by offering free family memberships to the Kirksey RecreationCenter."
The Platinum Sponsor of this year's charity gala is the DTE Energy Foundation, which generously donated $25,000. Josie Norcia and Kelly Athens are serving as honorary co-chairwomen of the event.
Sponsorships and tickets to the gala are still available. For more information, or if you would like to make a donation to help support Healthy Livonia, please contact St. Mary Mercy's Office of Philanthropy at 734-655-2980, or e-mail livoniaevents@stjoeshealth.org. ###
