PONTIAC, Mich. (May 3, 2018) – St. Joseph Mercy Oakland has named Frank Sawyer as its new senior vice president of operations. In this role, he is responsible for operational and clinical service-line management, and provides day-to-day oversight of quality, safety and operational goals within the hospital. "Frank is an ascending leader who has garnered an impressive blend of ambulatory and inpatient operations and service line experience throughout his career," said Shannon Striebich, president of St. Joseph Mercy Oakland. "He emerged as our clear choice based on his professional experience as well as his team oriented, highly collaborative style of leadership."

Before arriving to St. Joe's, Sawyer served as vice president of Oncology Services at Premier Health, an integrated network of five hospitals and two major health centers in Dayton, Ohio. Prior to leading Oncology Services, he served concurrently as vice president of operations for Good Samaritan Hospital, and system vice president for Environmental Services. Sawyer earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Ohio University and his Masters of Health Administration (MHA) from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
