Elizabeth Block, MD

Elizabeth Block, MD

Dr. Block is board certified in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She completed her internship at the University of Maryland and residency at the University of Michigan. She is board certified in general adult psychiatry. Dr. Block recently completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the University of Michigan. She joined the staff of St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea in 2018 and is currently the attending psychiatrist for our child, adolescent, and young adult patients in both our Chelsea and Dexter Outpatient locations. She joined the staff of Chelsea Hospital in 2018 and is currently the attending psychiatrist for our child, adolescent, and young adult patients.

Nicolas Morcos, MD

Nicholas Morcos, MD

Dr. Morcos is board certified in Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry. He graduated medical school from The Ohio State University and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Michigan. He has clinical and research interests in mood disorders, neurodegenerative disorders, and management of behavioral disturbances in dementia. Dr. Morcos is also certified in ECT. He joined the Chelsea Hospital outpatient behavioral health clinic in 2022 and sees geriatric patients and adults over age 50.

Frank W. Pavlovcic III, DO

Frank W. Pavlovcic III, DO

Dr. Pavlovcic is the Outpatient Clinical Director. He is board certified in General Psychiatry. Dr. Pavlovcic received his Doctor of Osteopathy from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001. He completed his internship in family medicine and psychiatry through the National Capital Consortium and his residency in psychiatry at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Prior to joining the staff at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea, Dr. Pavlovcic served in the Army and then worked for the Veteran’s Health Administration in Fairbanks, Alaska. He is currently an attending psychiatrist serving our adult patients. Dr. Pavlovcic sees patients in the Chelsea Outpatient Clinic location. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Medical Association, and American Osteopathic Association.

Traci Breniser Wilson, MA LLP

Traci Breniser Wilson, MA LLP

Traci earned her Master’s degree from the Michigan School of Professional Psychology in 1990. She enjoys working with individuals, children to older adults, as well as couples and families. She draws from an eclectic blend of treatment modalities including Mindfulness, Positive Psychology and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Her areas of interest include the treatment of depression, anxiety, women’s issues, couples counseling and she has specialty training in eating disorders. In her work, Traci's goal is to help people identify their struggles and strengths to become their true authentic self. She is guided by her unwavering belief in people's ability to achieve their greatest potential.

Stuart Chalin, LMSW

Stuart Chalin, LMSW

Stuart received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Simmons Graduate School of Social Work in Boston, Massachusetts in 2001 and worked at clinics in Boston and Ann Arbor prior to joining the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic in 2011. Stuart also has a Master’s degree in Philosophy from Boston College and both areas of study inform his therapeutic style. Stuart has had training in outpatient and inpatient settings as well as experience working with clients who are recovering from mental illness and/or addictions. Stuart incorporates Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Insight Oriented and Narrative approaches in his practice in addition to seeing his clients in terms of broad situations rather than narrow diagnoses.

Julie Chappel

Julie Chappel, LMSW

Julie completed her Master's of Social Work from the University of Michigan with a focus on interpersonal practice. She has past experience in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings. For 17 years she enjoyed providing individual, group and family therapy at Henry Ford Allegiance Health's Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic. She joined Chelsea Outpatient Behavioral Health Services in 2019. Julie engages various methods in therapy that include Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Theory. It is rewarding for her to work with adolescents and adults all ages in defining their strengths and passions to navigate life challenges and to embrace a healthy and gratifying lifestyle.

Amanda Connon, MS, LLP

Amanda Connon, MS, LLP

Amanda received her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Madonna University and joined St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea in 2018. She both enjoys and has experience working with adolescents and adults coping with depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, various addictions, personality disorders, relationship/family issues, grief and loss, as well as problems associated with finances, discrimination and life transitions. Amanda collaborates with patients to choose a treatment that makes sense for their personal needs. She focuses on a holistic approach, which many include Psychodynamic, Humanistic/Existential, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy or a combination of these.

Matthew Cunnhingham, LMSW

Matthew Cunnhingham, LMSW

Matthew earned his Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2011. He has worked in community-based and clinical settings as a behavioral and trauma therapist. He works with teenagers and adults. Before coming to Chelsea, he worked for over 5 years in a community mental health setting with individuals experiencing severe emotion dysregulation and chronic suicidal/violent ideation and behaviors. Matthew has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT Skills Groups, not the full DBT model) and Somatic Attachment-Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (SAFE EMDR) trauma therapy. He is currently seeking his EMDR certification and to eventually be an EMDR consultant for others seeking their certification. He believes that there is a huge spectrum of what can be considered trauma, from childhood disappointments to severe physical or sexual abuse. Matthew has helped people over the entire spectrum find healing in moving beyond the devastating symptoms of trauma to living a more healthy, fulfilling and liberating life.

Kelly Finch, LMSW

Kelly Finch, LMSW

Kelly Finch earned her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 1994 and completed a post-graduate certificate in Working with Infants, Toddlers, and their Family. She has experience working in both Washtenaw and Wayne County Community Mental Health agencies as both a home-based and outpatient provider to children and families. Most recently, Kelly worked in Psychiatric Emergency Services serving people in crisis and arranging for hospitalization, if necessary. Kelly treats adults, children and families, but has a special interest and expertise in treating children age ten and under, autism spectrum disorders, and in providing parent education and support. She utilizes a variety of treatment modalities including play therapy, motivational interviewing and narrative therapy. Kelly is committed to providing a supportive and safe environment for individuals seeking to improve their mental health.

Holly Gist-Richer, LMSW

Holly (she/her) graduated from the University of Texas with her master’s degree in 2012. She has worked in a variety of settings including ambulatory care, community mental health, and outpatient treatment. Holly is eclectic in her approach. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and utilizes additional modalities such as Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Holly enjoys working with adolescents and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, relational conflict, and trauma.

Naomi Hollowell received her Masters’ Degree in Social Work in 2011. Her treatment style is eclectic, incorporating CBT, DBT, Parts Therapy and Mindfulness. She works with teenagers, age 15+ and adults of all ages. She is adept at treating patients with anxiety, depression and bipolar and those who identify as LGBTQ+. She also works closely and respectfully with individuals of varying faith traditions. Naomi is a Certified Recovery Coach. She endeavors to incorporate kindness and a sense of humor into her work and emphasizes building self-compassion.

Maggie Kantola obtained her Master's Degree in social work from Wayne State University. Maggie enjoys working with adults of all ages. Her areas of interest and specialty include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, trauma, and those who identify as LGBTQ. She incorporates a variety of strength-based treatment styles and modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, and Holistic approaches. Maggie aims to provide a compassionate and empathetic therapeutic environment and enjoys helping individuals meet their desired goals.

Mary earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Florida State University in 1991. She has worked as a therapist at runaway shelters, in schools, in an employee assistant program, and was a program manager at Brighton Hospital before joining the Outpatient Behavioral Health team here at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea in 2007. Mary specializes in treatment of adolescents, adults, and families with mental health and substance abuse issues. Her treatment approach incorporates family systems, cognitive- behavioral, and problem-solving strategies. She has a special interest in working with people who struggle with depression, anxiety, and relationship issues

Barbra Mazie, LMSW

Barbra Mazie, LMSW

Barbra Mazie received her Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan School of Social Work. She has been practicing psychotherapy since 1992, first with McLaren Regional Medical Center, and since 1999, with St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea. Barbra has worked in inpatient, partial hospital, intensive outpatient and outpatient care levels. Barbra provides individual, family and group therapy to her patients. Barbra works with young, middle age and older adults. She specializes in psychotherapy with people who are experiencing difficult life transitions and losses, medical problems and chronic pain, anxiety and depressive disorders, and a wide range of traumatic experiences. Barbra has had extensive training in clinical hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and offers hypnosis to her patients, when appropriate. She utilizes hypnosis to assist patients in many areas, including managing anxiety, pain, and trauma; preparing for surgical procedures; building motivation and self-efficacy; and achieving goals for change. Barbra believes that psychotherapy is a setting in which to experience and express authentic feelings; enhance understanding and compassion toward self; explore values and priorities; and learn and practice skills to manage symptoms and promote healing.

Marshall Moore, LMSW

Marshall Moore, LMSW

Marshall received his Master’s in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University in 2016 with a focus on chemical dependency and mental health. Marshall spent the last four years working for a private practice out of Milan, Michigan before starting at the Chelsea Behavioral Health Clinic in February of 2021. Marshall uses a variety of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness to assist his clients in achieving mental well-being.

Virginia Oemke, LMSW

Virginia Oemke, LMSW

Virginia earned her Master's degree from the University of Michigan in 2005. She has worked in a variety of settings including residential, community mental health, and outpatient treatment. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults, and families and uses a strength based approach in a variety of treatment modalities (cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed intervention). She has received training from the National Institute of Trauma and Loss in Children and is practiced in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She has interest and expertise working with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, and grief and loss.

Emma earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2016 and worked with families using an infant mental health model before joining St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea in 2020. Emma enjoys working with people across the lifespan coping with depression, anxiety, trauma, life changes, relationship/family issues, and more. Emma has been trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems and recognizes the body's wisdom in moving toward healing. Emma utilizes a compassionate and neurobiologically-informed approach to help clients recognize the ways that their brain and body have adapted to stress. Emma is also a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT-200) and incorporates mindfulness into her work.
