Labor, Delivery & Recover in the same room
In an effort to reduce disruptions in the bonding process between you and your baby, we provide a unique experience in which you and your loved one's transition seamlessly from admission to discharge without transferring rooms.
The hour after birth is critically important for mom and baby. In order to ensure that you and your baby stay together with minimal disruption, we provide the same room from admission to discharge. This means that you won’t be transferring rooms or units, and instead focus on bonding together. This is a special time for you and your baby. Research shows that there are many benefits for both mother and baby when rooming in:
- Increased opportunity for skin to skin
- Better quality sleep for mother and baby
- Increased confidence in handling and caring for baby
- Ability to learn and identify earlier baby cues
- Improved breastfeeding experience
- More stable blood sugars for baby; lower levels of stress hormones; more content baby
Your Baby's Safety
Your baby’s safety is a responsibility shared both by you and by the hospital staff. Some of our hospital practices include an electronic security system, matching identification bands for parents and babies, identification badges for all hospital staff.
