New Hire Mandatory Processes

The following steps must be completed before you will be able to begin work.

Throughout the pre-employment process, most of our communication will come through email. Please watch for multiple emails between now and your scheduled start date. Be sure to check your spam/junk folder if you don’t see an email within the timeline below.

  • This step will be completed through Sterling.
  • Watch for an email from and follow the instructions. This process may take several weeks, so it is important to fill out and submit the information as soon as possible.
    • After you enter your information into Sterling, the report can be processed while other pieces of the pre-employment process are being completed.
  • It is important to fill out the Employment Verification portion as accurately as possible. Please do not include any unpaid/volunteer opportunities, or employment outside of the United States, as Sterling will not be able to verify it. Sterling may email you directly to request additional documentation or contact information if they are unable to complete the verification.
  • This step will be completed in Equifax.
  • Follow the two-step process to complete your I-9 Verification.
  • Step 1: Complete section 1 of your Form I-9
    • If you are Meeting Human Resources in person prior to your start date (most southeast Michigan colleagues will do this):
      • In Workday, choose the in-person option to complete your form. Bring your original documents (copies are not accepted) to your meeting with Human Resources. Be sure to review the list of acceptable documents required for your appointment here.
    • If you will be working remote or at a great distance from your home office (not meeting directly with HR prior to your start)
      • Click on the second link provided, which will take you to our external verification site. Choose a site convenient to you and make an appointment to visit PRIOR to your start date. The appointment must be completed by your 3rd day of employment. Be sure to review the list of acceptable documents required for your appointment here.
      • Present your original documents (copies are not accepted) during your scheduled in-person appointment. Be sure to review the list of acceptable documents required for your appointment here. If you are unable to locate this email, you'll need to contact Workforce Solutions Support at 877-664-8778 or workforcesolutionssupport@equifax.com.
  • Step 2:
    • You must present one document List A or one document from List B and one documents from List C

If you have specific questions regarding the completion of your I-9, please contact Workforce Solutions Support at 877-664-8778 or workforcesolutionssupport@equifax.com.

  • This step will be completed in Workday.
  • You must be hired into the Workday system before you will be able to complete this step. You will receive new login information once your employee account has been created.
  • First, you’ll need to activate your account. You will receive two (2) automated emails from Trinity Health with your username and temporary password. This may take up to five (5) business days after you sign your offer letter.
  • Once you login, please complete all the onboarding tasks available to you.
    • Please note that as you complete certain tasks, more tasks may appear.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment (rescheduling can take 1-2 weeks, so may delay your start date), please give at least 24 hours' notice to your TA Partner.

  • This email will include New Colleague Orientation schedule.
    • The first 1-2 days of orientation are completed at home (unless directed by your manager or education coordinator) using your own computer.  If you do not have a computer, please notify your manager so other arrangements can be made.
    • Some new hires will complete the orientation at their worksite.  You will be notified by your manager with the time/place to report on your orientation date if this applies to you.
  • If for any reason you are not cleared to start before the deadline, your TA Partner will notify you via email and provide next steps.
