Activity Expectations for 12-month Sports PT Residency:

1,500 clinical practice hours including 150 mentored hours with board-certified sport PT specialists and greater than 300 education hours.

  • Assisting Pre-Participation Physicals
  • Various Sports Athletes in Clinic
    • Ie. Baseball, Soccer, Football, Dance, Gymnastics, Golf, Hockey, Track & Field, etc
• Weekly Activity Expectations
  • 30 hrs/wk
    • Independent Clinical Care
    • Progression of Diagnostic/Prognostic Training
    • Sports Physical Therapy at TrinityElite Clinic with Sports Certified Specialist PTs
  • 3.5 hrs/wk
    • 1:1 mentored patient care – resident providing care
  • 1.5 hrs/wk
    • 1:1 mentored competency practice and completion
  • 2-4 hrs/wk
    • Training room coverage and sideline acute injury and emergency management with Licensed Athletic Trainer
  • 5-10 hrs/month
    • Teaching assistant position with Wayne State University’s 3rd-year exercise class
    • Sports Performance Team, small group and 1:1 Training
