About

"At the age of 13, I underwent my first knee surgery following a softball injury and was told that I would likely never be able to achieve my goal of playing collegiate softball. My PT not only helped me achieve that goal, but sparked my interest in pursuing physical therapy as a career. More than 15 years later, I feel blessed to be able to inspire others in the same way that my PT inspired me."

Laura earned a doctoral degree of physical therapy from Grand Valley State University, and a bachelor's degree in human biology/psychology from Concordia University where she also played four years of varsity softball as an NAIA athlete.

She has furthered her education by becoming a Certified Integrated Manual Therapist (CIMT). This signifies a more advanced approach in diagnosing movement dysfunction in addition to providing a variety of hands-on interventions. She is also certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment.

Prior to working for Probility Physical Therapy, Laura spent two years practicing in Grand Haven, MI where she treated patients of all ages with varying diagnoses ranging from developmental disorders to athletic injuries. She believes in a comprehensive approach to treating the "whole person," and enjoys integrating the concepts of manual therapy, functional strength, and education to make the physical therapy experience enjoyable and fun.

Laura particularly has a passion for the overhead athlete, post-concussion and vestibular rehabilitation, and female athletes. She is an active member of the Michigan Physical Therapy Association, and serves as a trustee for the Institute for Education and Research.

Laura enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle by playing recreational softball, cycling, spending quality time with friends and family, serving on the leadership team at her church, and volunteering with the Miracle League of Plymouth. She also serves as a Board Member of the Concordia Athletic Alumni Board.
