New Vision Withdrawal Management at Trinity Health Grand Haven provides adults who are in active or impending withdrawal from certain drugs or alcohol with a medically supervised hospital stay for inpatient stabilization, which usually lasts three days.
This confidential, hospital-based inpatient medical detoxification helps people take a first step towards recovery and overcome withdrawal symptoms. Without medical intervention in a hospital setting, withdrawal symptoms can be severe and a barrier for sobriety and continued treatment.
New Vision provides a safe medical detox for those dependent on:
- Alcohol
- Benzodiazepines (Valium, Xanax)
- Opioids (Heroin, OxyContin)
- Methamphetamines
- Cocaine
- Combined Substances
- Prescription Medications
Patients do not need a physician or other referral; they can self-refer for services that include:
- Pre-Screening and Assessment
- Admission and Medical Stabilization
- Discharge Planning
Upon admission to the hospital for medical stabilization, our staff will assess each patient’s physical and medical history, complete laboratory workup and a nursing assessment. This pre-screening process helps develop a personalized treatment plan.
Before leaving the hospital, our staff works with each patient to develop a plan for aftercare services as part of their recovery plan. Patients are connected to appropriate community-based treatment programs to help prevent relapse and continue their treatment.
